What a whirlwind!!!! It feels like it was a month ago when we heard the news. But it has only been a few days. We went shopping last night for some stuff, and it was hilarious trying to find clothes and PJs. We didn’t even know where to look. For a while all we could find was girls clothes. I was just laughing at how little I know about little kiddos. Shopping for a 5 month old in the 18 month section is funny enough.
There is some uber-cool stuff out though. I was really tempted in getting a baby monitor that broadcasts a video feed to a handheld device. It even has night vision!!! How sweet is that? That is a toy that could last for years (Joshua may even get to play with it some too). I didn’t buy it though. Until I get a handle on everything (like that is going to happen) I have to be extra careful with the spending of the monies. I can say that I now feel a responsibility that I have never felt before with trying to provide (and we don’t even have him yet).
We have been blessed with a lot of friends and family! Thank you all for being such a support. Tonight a friend from high school is helping us paint the room (yes, I know you don’t need to paint the room for the baby…but he is a painter, and he is REALLY good. He has helped us in the past and what took me an hour to paint, he can do in a matter of minutes. True story!!! We needed some help, he stopped over to see what we were talking about…he picked up the roller, I looked down for a split second, looked back and the whole wall was finished! (and, you should see him cut (cutting is painting the edges along the floor or ceiling) he can cut a whole room (with one arm tied behind his back) with no tape in a matter minutes and it looks perfect!!!!)). So with help like that, why shouldn’t we?
OK to answer some questions:
1. Where is he going during the work day: He will be staying home with Angela. I am hoping to be able to work from home as much as possible for the first week. (and I am sure I will be finding reasons to stay home in the future)
2. All the details? that is a very long and complicated story, I will try to compress as much as possible: 5 brothers and sisters. The refugee family came over about a year ago…(most of the back story can be found in the Common Ground Update circulating via email…if you would like the email, just let me know and I can forward it on to you)
3. Joshua was born here at St. Als on March 23, 2007. What were we doing on that day? Singing karaoke-celebrating Angela’s birthday!!! Crazy!

Do you know someone from Egypt? You had someone visit from there according to your “Where is the World” deal on your main page.
